Ready to take the next step in your education and career? UC Aspire’s adult basic education program provides learners with the tools and resources they need for success — including live instruction, test prep materials, and free access to Essential Education, an online program that allows you to keep learning on your own outside of class. UC Aspire’s 8-week online classes are designed to maximize your learning and prepare you for what’s NEXT, whether that’s the GED or college. You can focus on one subject at a time or take all four subjects at once, depending on your needs and availability. UC Aspire enrolls new learners approximately every 8 weeks.

Register to attend an orientation

All learners must attend orientation and testing before starting adult basic education classes. During orientation, you’ll get a chance to:

  • Learn how UC Aspire’s adult basic education program works.
  • Meet UC Aspire instructors and staff.
  • Learn about support services such as career navigation and loaner laptops.
  • Develop an individual learning plan tailored to your goals.
  • Take a placement test to see what you already know.
